Bobby Brown: Speaking About Whitney and Going Behind The Music

Whitney Houston's much publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey couldn't have had more peculiar timing; her ex-husband Bobby Brown – who seemed to be the main topic of the "candid" with the billionaire media maven – is talking too.

In promotion of his forthcoming 'Behind The Music' special, the 'My Prerogative' crooner recently opened up to 'The Insider' about his rocky relationship with Houston.

"I think we corrupted each other," Brown disclosed. "I don't think she hurt me or I hurt her in any way. I just think we had a 14-year marriage that had its ups and downs, and not many people understood it."

Similar to the ex-couple's 1992 duet 'Something in Common,' Houston confirmed Brown's statement by revealing the two being inseparable during the duration of their marriage

"He was my drug," Houston confessed yesterday on the season premiere of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' "I didn't do anything without him. I wasn't getting high by myself. It was me and him together, and we were partners, and that's what my high was - him. He and I being together, and whatever we did, we did it together. No matter what, we did it together."

Admittedly, Brown divulged what he said was the real reason why he began abusing cocaine; not only because of how "it's a powerful drug," but due to his lack of enthusiasm from his marriage.

"I just think I was bored. I had just gotten married, and things [weren't] right and I turned to alcohol and drugs."

Is that so, Bobby?

It appears marriage and boredom wasn't the only thing that may have gotten the former New Edition member down in a slump. According to his 'Being Bobby Brown' autobiography, (which was later labeled "unauthorized" due to conflicts of interests between him and author Derrick Handspike), the Grammy Award-winning Boston native recalled himself drinking heavily once he separated from a famous former girlfriend bobby brown.

"Before I met Janet [Jackson], I would never drink hard liquor, I only drank beer," he revealed. "But after our break up, I started drinking hard liquor abundantly. I took the way our relationship ended very hard. Not to say we were head over heels in love, but she was someone I had a lot of feelings for."

"Besides, we were young and naive," he added. "I was only about 19 or 20 years old. Young love is no joke!"

As for his thoughts on seeing his ex-wife on Winfrey's show, Brown doesn't seem too fazed by her appearance. "If there's something that she says that is untrue or disrespectful then...I'll deal with that with her."
